Onancock man indicted on counts of abducting and choking former girlfriend

A 27-year-old Onancock man was indicted Monday on counts of abducting and choking his former girlfriend and breaking into her house by knocking out a window on Aug. 17.

Antonio Efrain Morales-Diego, of College Avenue, was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, assault and battery of a family member and violating a protective order.

The incident occurred at a Jackson Street residence where the victim said she was living. Court files stated the woman had injuries to her face, neck, and body. The two have a young son. Morales-Diego was denied bond last month.

In another case, 22-year-old Bryan Velasquez, of Lankford Highway in Birdsnest, was indicted on counts of assaulting Deputy S. Henning and maliciously wounding Deputy A. Clark, both of the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office, in August.

The officers responded to a home in Mappsville, where a complaint that Velasquez had attempted to bite several people was voiced. Court records stated the defendant appeared to be upset, agitated, and under the influence of drugs. Velasquez then allegedly unsuccessfully attempted to bite Henning. Records state he is also accused of biting Clark, causing her to bleed and tearing a muscle in her hand. It was later determined that the defendant was under the influence of PCP, the file continued.

Twenty-one-year-old Christian White, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, was indicted on two counts of abuse of a child as to disregard their lives, and felony eluding in connection with Aug. 26 incidents.

White allegedly took officers in Accomack, Northampton, and Virginia Beach on a high-speed chase that went for more than 70 miles. He allegedly drove more than 130 miles per hour, ran several red lights, drove on the shoulder of the highway, and nearly hit several vehicles. He crashed in Virginia Beach and was apprehended with two children in the car, according to reports.
