Onancock Main Street seeks public input on downtown Onancock revitalization

Onancock Main Street (OMS) wants to hear from Virginia’s Eastern Shore residents and visitors to determine its Downtown Onancock revitalization priorities. OMS’ goals are to ensure the vibrancy and preservation of Downtown Onancock, and community input guides its efforts.

You can participate in two ways:

Please take this survey by Oct. 15, 2024, and share it with family and friends. You can find the link on the Onancock Main Street web page. Data gathered from this new six-minute survey will help OMS update its future priorities. All answers are anonymous and highly valued.

If you have more to say, consider dropping by one of two community engagement events to share your ideas in person and learn more about Onancock Main Street. Thurs., Sept. 5, 5-8 pm, the Peninsula Center, 65 Market St., Onancock, VA, Sat., Sept. 7, 10 am-1 pm, the Historic Onancock School, 6 College Ave., Onancock, VA.

OMS exists to serve the community. As examples, the organization has successfully:
· Led rebranding efforts for the Town of Onancock
· Installed three Downtown murals
· Created and maintains the tourism website ExperienceOnancock.com
· Enhances empty storefronts with attractive banners
· Provides free design and planning services and marketing support to businesses
· Funded the Lilliston Building study, resulting in acquisition by developer and $1 million low-
interest loan
