Onancock Town Manager Matt Spuck announced that the boil water advisory is expected to be lifted soon, pending final test results.
The first BacT test showed no contamination, and the second test, currently two hours into its eight-hour incubation, is also showing promising results. According to lab technicians, once tests begin to look clear, they rarely change, indicating a positive outcome for the town’s water supply.
Spuck advised residents and businesses to sanitize ice machines in preparation for resuming normal use once final test results are confirmed around 3:30 p.m. today.
“I wish I could be more definitive to help you make your choices, but we are following every rule and regulation for your safety,” Spuck stated.
Residents are encouraged to stay updated on official announcements regarding the advisory’s conclusion.
