With the 100th Anniversary of the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company’s Annual Pony Swim fast approaching, officials have released the Official 2025 Pony Swim Guide to help residents and visitors prepare for what is expected to be a record-breaking week on the island.
Presented in partnership with the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company, the Town of Chincoteague, and the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce, the guide offers verified and up-to-date information to ensure a smooth and memorable Pony Swim experience during this milestone year.
“This year is unlike any other,” said Joanne Moore with the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce. “As excitement builds for the centennial celebration, it’s more important than ever for visitors and locals alike to be informed.”
The guide includes a full schedule of events, updated island maps, logistics, and helpful tips for navigating the festivities. It also details important public safety information such as road closures, enhanced security measures, changes to the trolley schedule, and newly updated shuttle stops for the swim.
Both digital and printed copies of the guide are available. Visitors can download the guide from the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce website or pick up a printed copy at the Chamber office at 6733 Maddox Boulevard. Additional copies will be available at the Carnival Information Stand during event week.
Organizers encourage all attendees—especially those returning for the first time in years—to review the updated guide, as several procedures have changed in anticipation of larger crowds and heightened activity surrounding the 100th Pony Swim.
