A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for Accomack and Northampton Counties on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
Issued by the National Weather Service, the watch warns of potential storms bringing strong winds, heavy rain, and lightning. According to the National Weather Service, Northampton County has an enhanced risk of severe storms, heavy wind and possibly tornadoes, while Accomack only has a slight risk. The system could produce gusts over 60 mph and localized flooding.
A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6:00 PM this evening.
