NWS issues Heat Advisory for Shore this afternoon

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory in effect for the Eastern Shore this afternoon.

Heat index values up to 106 expected in both Northampton and Accomack Counties from noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening.

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
