Northampton County will go with a Richmond law firm to provide interim legal consent and counsel while it searches for a new County attorney.
The action was taken at Tuesday night’s meeting in Eastville.
The firm chosen was Hefty, Wiley and Gore. According to County Administrator Charlie Kolakowski, the firm was one of many researched by outgoing County Attorney Michelle Clayton.
“This will keep things moving while we search for a replacement for our County Attorney,” said Kolakowski.
Clayton officially ended her stint as County Attorney last week. She worked as County Attorney for just over a year after being hired to fill the role left by retiring Commonwealth’s Attorney Bev Leatherbury.
