Northampton Sheriff’s Dept seeking assistance in car theft case

According to Sheriff David Doughty, at approximately 4am on October 16, 2025, the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a Grey Mazda with Florida registration for speeding. The vehicle initially attempted to stop in the Eastville area on Lankford Highway but then began to elude deputies on a high-speed pursuit. The suspect was later involved in a single vehicle accident near the intersection of Machipongo Drive and Seaside Road. The single suspect occupant then fled on foot and was pursued by deputies. The suspect is described as a white male in his early to mid-20’s wearing a grey coat.

Additionally, around 9am the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen vehicle from the Machipongo area. The vehicle is described as a White 2021 Ford 450 with a black tool body and was towing a red gooseneck style trailer.The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone with information regarding this incident contact the Sheriff’s Office at 757-678-0458.
