
A Northampton Correctional Officer has been let go after he was accused and then charged with sexual allegations.
According to Sheriff David L. Doughty, Jr., Deputy Hector Luis Rosa, Jr. was relieved of his duties as a correctional officer assigned to work at the Eastern Shore Regional Jail Tuesday.
On April 5, 2024, allegations against Rosa were received by the Sheriff’s Office. Due to the nature of the complaint, Rosa was immediately placed on administrative leave and the Virginia State Police conducted the investigation. On July 8, 2024, Rosa was indicted for Object Sexual Penetration, Abduction, and Sexual Battery. Rosa has been released on a secured bond.
Due to the criminal aspect of the investigation, no additional details are being released at this time. Sheriff Doughty stated that further information will be made available at a later date.
Rosa had been employed with the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office since 2018.
