The Northampton County Board of Supervisors approved new EMS billing rates at their June 24th work session in the Eastville Old Courthouse.

Effective July 1st, EMS service fees will increase by 15% and transport mileage fees by 10%. These increases come after a review of current rates showed that under the rise of 3% per year since 2015, Northampton EMS rates are significantly lower than the average of the surrounding localities.

Greg DeYoung, EMS Director, also requested that the EMS Director be given the authority to raise fees by no more than 5% annually unless approved by the Board.

Board Chairman John Coker agreed to the request with the stipulation that it must be approved by the County Administrator for future increases.
