New Ravenna, a leading U.S. designer and manufacturer of handcrafted mosaics based in Exmore, has appointed Jodie Sokel as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective March 31, 2025. The announcement marks a significant milestone for the company, as Sokel has been with New Ravenna since its early days and brings a wealth of experience to the role.
Sokel began her career at New Ravenna in 1994 as one of the company’s first employees, handcrafting mosaics on the studio floor. Over the past three decades, she has held a number of key leadership roles, including General Manager, Director of Sales, and Director of Procurement. Her deep understanding of the company’s operations, culture, and artisanal craftwork positions her to lead New Ravenna into its next phase of growth.
“Jodie’s appointment as CEO is not only well-deserved—it is a natural evolution of her leadership within New Ravenna,” said Reg Hargrove, Managing Partner at Rocky Point Ventures, the Texas-based family office that owns New Ravenna. “Her dedication to our craft, our people, and our future is unmatched, and we are excited to see her lead with the same passion and expertise that have defined her career.”
A longtime resident of Virginia’s Eastern Shore, Sokel is known for her strong community ties. She is a mother and grandmother, and is actively involved in animal welfare efforts, particularly wildlife rehabilitation in the region.
New Ravenna is a portfolio company of Rocky Point Ventures. The company produces luxury mosaics right in downtown Exmore. With Sokel at the helm, the company anticipates continued innovation and a sustained commitment to excellence.
