New Church woman charged in Monday’s three-vehicle crash involving Accomack County school bus

Virginia State Police say a New Church woman has been charged in connection with a three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon involving a passenger car, an SUV, and an Accomack County school bus.

According to Sgt. Michelle Anaya, the crash occurred when the driver of a 2013 Dodge Dart , was traveling westbound on Chincoteague Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Coardtown Road. Harmon failed to yield the right of way and turned into the path of a 2017 Toyota Highlander traveling eastbound on Chincoteague Road.

The impact pushed the Toyota into a 2020 Accomack County school bus that was stopped on Coardtown Road at the time of the collision.

Harmon was charged with failure to yield the right of way. One person reported injuries, which were described as non-life-threatening.
