Nandua Middle School students earned national recognition at the 2025 National Junior Beta Club Convention, bringing home top honors in multiple categories and highlighting the strength of the Eastern Shore’s young leaders.

Over four days of competition, Nandua’s Jr. Beta members competed against more than 1,900 clubs from across the country and delivered standout performances in academics, arts, engineering, and the performing arts.

The school’s Collaboration Connection Team captured an impressive fourth-place finish nationally, a result credited to their ability to work under pressure and showcase strong cooperation and problem-solving skills.

Nandua’s Jr. Beta Engineering Team also made a strong showing, placing eighth after more than two hours of intense judging. The event drew large participation, but the team’s patience, persistence, and innovative thinking stood out.

In the arts, Alyssa Phillips earned third place in the Visual Arts Quilling category, displaying exceptional creativity and attention to detail in the challenging paper art competition.

Nandua’s Performing Arts Group Talent Team rounded out the school’s national honors with a seventh-place finish. Competing in a crowded field that featured more than three hours of four-minute skits, the team impressed judges with their stage presence, creativity, and commitment.

While the trophies and national rankings are commendable, Nandua staff emphasized that the most valuable outcome was the growth and confidence students developed through their participation. The Jr. Beta Club fosters leadership, collaboration, service, and academic excellence—skills students will carry with them long after the competition.

Nandua Middle School’s success at the National Convention underscores the power of student engagement and community support. The Eastern Shore can take pride in these rising leaders, whose achievements reflect both personal dedication and the mission of the Jr. Beta Club.
