Nandua High School receives threat, students evacuated

Nandua High School was evacuated Friday morning after receiving a threat.

According to an official statement from the school, confirmed by the Accomack County School Board Office, the evacuation was conducted out of an abundance of caution while law enforcement investigates and searches the campus.

Students were sent home at 12:15 for the day. Bomb sniffing dogs cleared the building and found no evidence of any explosive devices.

According to Sheriff Todd Wessells, an arrest was made in connection with the incident. More details will be forthcoming.
