Thirteen people were indicted by an Accomack Grand Jury Monday on felony counts that involved possessing or distributing illegal drugs.
Fifty-two-year-old Steven Giddens, of Willow Lane in Birdsnest, was indicted on counts of eluding police while going more than 20 mph over the speed limit, possession of cocaine, being a violent felon and possessing or transporting a weapon, and having a gun while possessing cocaine, all on April 17.
Court records stated Giddens led police on a high-speed chase through residential neighborhoods. A magistrate held the defendant without bond because he was believed to be a flight risk and a danger to the community.
Forty-four-year-old Kewin Antwan Harmon, of Neal Parker Road in Withams, was indicted on counts of driving under the influence and maiming Margie Bradford-Vaquez, who was the other driver in a two-vehicle crash; two counts of possession of cocaine; and assault and battery of Trooper B. Tripp, all on Dec. 30, 2023. Harmon was also indicted on a count of being a nonviolent felon and possessing or transporting a gun on March 1.
Thirty-four-year-old Travis R. Marshall, of Garman Lane on Tangier Island, was indicted on counts of selling cocaine, possessing cocaine, and possessing the drug with ammunition on May 10. He was also accused in an indictment of receiving or buying stolen goods valued at more than $1,000 on March 15.
Thirty-five-year-old Jawyne Kente Coston, of Pennyville Road in Painter, was indicted on a second offense of possession with intent to distribute cocaine on May 22.
Thirty-one-year-old Quanta Markese Mapp, of Seaside Road in Painter; and 31-year-old Anthony Rayshad Davis, of Sysco Driven in Painter; were indicted on counts of possession of cocaine and having a gun with the drug on March 16. Davis was also accused in an indictment of possession of a concealed weapon by a felon.
Forty-eight-year-old Curtis Samuel McCray, of Bethel Road in Hallwood, was indicted on a count of possessing oxycodone on May 30.
Sixty-one-year-old William Shertenlieb, of Belinda Lane in Sanford, was indicted on a count of possessing cocaine on May 11.
Thirty-four-year-old Kenneth Short, of Jacob Street in Onancock, was indicted on a count of possessing cocaine on April 6.
Sixty-five-year-old Vaughn Waldo Topping Jr., of Metompkin Road near Parksley, was indicted on a count of possessing crack cocaine on Feb. 26.
Thirty-five-year-old Courtney Fisher, of Depot Street in New Church, was indicted on a count of possessing cocaine on April 24.
Forty-year-old Patrick James Berry, of Strawberry Lane in Atlantic, was indicted on a Feb. 15 count of cocaine possession.
Fifty-eight-year-old Sandra Earlene Pruitt, of Hill Street in Onancock, was indicted on counts of possessing cocaine and destroying evidence on May 21. The defendant was on probation when she allegedly had several rocks of crack, the record stated. Pruitt admitted to authorities that she swallowed the drug to hide it from police.
