An Exmore man was indicted Friday by a Northampton Grand Jury on a count of strangling a grocery store worker last June.

Sixty-eight-year-old Keith Allen Pruitt, of Willis Wharf Road, a customer at the Food Lion in Exmore, was identified by the victim, according to court records. She told authorities that Pruitt approached her at the store at around 9:40 p.m.

He “got really close to her, and grabbed her by the neck, and laughed it off,” the woman told police. “He then grabbed her a second time by the neck. She felt her oxygen being restricted and felt she could not breathe when this happened,” the report stated.  She said he told her, “You know you like it like this.”

Pruitt was convicted of aggravated sexual battery in 1996, stalking in 2002 and 2007, and destruction of property in 2024.

In another case, 38-year-old Shantell Nicole Campbell, of Wilson Court in Cape Charles, was indicted on embezzling more than $1,000 from the Shore Stop Store in Cape Charles and grand theft of than $1,000 from the same business between Nov. 11, 2022, and July 24, 2023. According to court records, she allegedly took more than $5,000 in total.

Twenty-one-year-old Christian Michael White, of Fayetteville, N.C., was indicted on counts of

unauthorized use of a vehicle, eluding police, driving more than 85 miles per hour, and two charges of child neglect and abuse in connection with an August 2024 incident.

According to court records, White took officers in Accomack, Northampton, and Virginia Beach on a 76-mile high-speed chase. While in Northampton, he allegedly was seen going more than 130 miles per hour, running several red lights, driving on the shoulder of the highway, and nearly hitting several vehicles. He crashed in Virginia Beach and was apprehended with two children in the car, according to reports.

Thirty-nine-year-old Donnell Lovette Johnson, of Jefferson Avenue in Exmore, was indicted on a count of abducting a woman on Aug. 11, 2024. He was also accused of assault and battery of a family member, destruction of property and damaging a phone line to prevent a 9-1-1 call that day.

Fifty-four-year-old Michael Glenn Robinson, of Tyson Circle in Cape Charles, was indicted on counts of felony DWI and possession of cocaine in connection with March 30, 2024 incidents.

Twenty-five-year-old Henry Soto Bruno, of Passaic N.J., was indicted on a count of

felony hit and run with property damage that occurred Feb. 12, 2024.

Thirty-year-old William Trevaughn Townsend, of Banks Road in Cape Charles, was indicted on a count of eluding police on Oct. 25, 2020. He was also charged with possession of more than four ounces of marijuana, hit and run and having improper brakes, all of which are misdemeanors.

Forty-year-old Justin Elostoaugust Taylor, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was indicted on a count of hit and run that occurred on July 3, 2024. He was also charged with driving without a license and failure to stop before entering a highway, which are misdemeanors.

      Sixty-six-year-old Alvarez Eugenio Gonzalez, of Seaside Road in Eastville, was indicted on a count of failing to register as a Tier III sex offender in March of 2022.
