More court drama in Accomack Circuit Court

A 19-year-old Bloxom man was given a 10-year suspended sentence Thursday in Accomack Circuit Court for having sex without force with a 14-year-old girl when he was 18.

Jacen Alexander Horne will be on supervised probation for three years. Two counts of rape involving a minor were not prosecuted.

The girl told authorities that Horne provided alcohol to her and two other girls and that she felt pressured to drink. He then forced himself on her, she said. The defendant admitted the act but said it was consensual.

In another case, charges of aggravated sexual battery to a nine-year-old girl were not prosecuted against 45-year-old Brian Lee Brown, of Thomas Lane in Atlantic. The allegations were said to have occurred between April 1 and Nov. 1, 2022.

A charge of making a bomb/burn threat in August against David D. Johnson, of Greenbush, was reduced to misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to 12 months in jail with all but time served suspended.

Jennifer Michelle Carpenter, of Mears, pleaded guilty to selling or providing a Schedule I or II drug last February. Sentencing was set for Feb. 20. Two other drug charges were not prosecuted.

     Tanisha Danielle Pearsall, of Mappsville, pleaded guilty to selling or providing a Schedule I or II drug in October 2023. Sentencing was set for Feb. 20. Three other drug offenses were not prosecuted.
