After more than 119 years in the furniture business in the Norfolk, Virginia area — and 51 years serving the Eastern Shore — Meyers & Tabakin is closing its doors for good. Owner Gary Tabakin is retiring, marking the end of a long-standing family business known for offering quality furniture at affordable prices.
The company, which originally opened in Keller, later expanded to a large building in Onancock before settling at its current location on Route 13 in Onley. Now, in its final chapter, Meyers & Tabakin is hosting the biggest sale in its history.
The storewide closing sale began Thursday, June 26 at 10 a.m. and will continue until every item is sold. Shoppers can expect steep discounts on everything from living and dining room sets, recliners, and day beds to rugs, mirrors, appliances, and more. Gary Tabakin says, “No reasonable offer will be refused.”
Store hours during the sale are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m.
In addition, the Meyers & Tabakin building on Lankford Highway in Onley is also up for sale.
Gary Tabakin would like to sincerely thank all his loyal customers over the years for their continued support and trust.
All of us at WESR wish Gary the very best in his retirement.
