Metompkin Elementary School fourth graders set out to learn about making a difference by doing it. Following the devestation of Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria the students decided to do what they could to help. For two weeks the class collected supplies and money to send to the crippled island. They collected quite few supplies and used the money to purchase bottled water to send to Puerto Rico.
Friday, representatives of the military from Wallops arrived to load up the supplies and send them to Puerto Rico. Fourth grade teacher Christine Labore said “We are so proud of their hard work and dedication to make this project successful.”
