A Melfa man was cleared this week of 14 felony sex offenses involving a girl under the age of 13.
At a bench trial Thursday, Judge Lynwood W. Lewis Jr. found 44-year-old Rickey Lee Bailey Jr., of Powhattan Trail, not guilty of seven counts of aggravated sexual battery and seven counts of sodomy that were alleged to have occurred between 2009 and 2015. An Accomack Grand Jury brought the direct indictments against Bailey in February 2024.
Defense lawyer Richard Phillips handled the case.
