Maryland man sentenced for Accomack robberies

A Maryland man was sentenced Thursday in Accomack Circuit Court to 20 years in prison for local robberies that occurred in December 2022.

     All but 4.5 years of the term was suspended for 35-year-old Charlie Oliver Ayres, of Snow Hill. He admitted to robbing Royal Farms, in Nelsonia, and to attempting to rob Family Dollar, in Oak Hall. Five years of supervised probation was also ordered.
