A fatal crash Tuesday afternoon shut down part of Route 13 near the Maryland-Virginia state line in Worcester County.
Maryland State Police say troopers responded just after 3 p.m. to the intersection of Route 13 and Holland Road for a reported two-vehicle crash.
Units from New Church, Oak Hall Rescue, Greenbackville and Pocomoke City responded.
Investigators say a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling east on Holland Road and attempted to cross the southbound lanes of Route 13 when it was struck by a Toyota Venza.
The driver of the Jeep, 53-year-old David Loveland of Marion Station, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the Toyota, a 37-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man, were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not been released.
Southbound lanes of Route 13 were closed for more than three hours while Maryland State Police investigated the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
