Maryland man pleads guilty to abduction, sexual battery, bestiality materials and jail robbery

A Maryland man pleaded guilty Wednesday in Accomack Circuit Court to committing violent crimes against a Melfa woman and to possessing bestiality materials in 2025 and to robbing a fellow inmate at the Accomack Jail earlier this year.

A plea agreement between 26-year-old Riker David Bucci of Frederick, Md., and Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney William Fox was offered to the court regarding the charges. Judge Lynwood Lewis said he would wait for a long-form presentence report and psychosexual evaluation to be completed before deciding whether he would accept the agreement.

The maximum punishment for the crimes is 42 years in prison. The agreement calls for 12 active years in the state penitentiary, five years of supervised probation, and 42 years of good behavior. Ten years of the term would be for abduction, and 10 years, with all but two years suspended, would be for the robbery. The rest of the charges would garner suspended sentences.

Regarding the May 13, 2025, crimes, Bucci admitted to felony counts of illegally transporting the victim, who “was paralyzed by fear,” and to two counts of possessing videos of bestiality. The defendant also pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of sexual battery, assault and battery, and about 10 charges of violating a protective order.

Fox said Bucci arrived at his former girlfriend’s house at about 1 a.m. He put a knife to her throat, told her to get in his car, stopped at a local business, which was closed, and held her outside against his vehicle while he sexually assaulted her. Fox said that Bucci told her not to tell anyone or he would kill her, her family, and her boyfriend. After taking her back to her house, he texted her his location, making it easier for the police to find him.

The robbery charge involved Bucci taking another inmate’s property, struggling with the man for the laundry bag, and then striking him in the head several times so he could take the bag away. Fox said the incident was captured on surveillance video.

Another hearing was set for November.
