Man sought in 2021 murder of Atlantic woman still has not been found

The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, in Maryland, is continuing to look for a Pocomoke man suspected of murder in the 2021 death of an Eastern Shore of Virginia woman, according to a Facebook post that asked for the public’s help Wednesday.

Fifty-six-year-old William Edward Strand lived on Snow Hill Lane when the body of 48-year-old Lesa Renee White, of Atlantic, was found at his home on Jan. 6, 2021. Two days earlier, family members told the Pocomoke Police Department that she was missing.

A medical examiner ruled her death a homicide. Reports state she was shot in the head. The victim was the suspect’s former girlfriend and the mother of his child.

Strand was charged with first- and second-degree murder. According to the sheriff’s department’s post, “There is also a warrant out for (Strand’s) arrest in a separate attempted murder case.”  Reports state that the incident occurred in Somerset County, Md.

Strand was last seen driving a 2014 Chevy Malibu, with Maryland tag No. 5DP3127. He is a black man, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, who weighs about 220 pounds
