Machipongo man acquitted of sex offense

     Twenty-three-year-old Diquan Lamont Sample, of Machipongo, was found not guilty of inanimate object sexual penetration. If he had been found guilty, he could have been sentenced to between five years and life in prison. A woman told authorities that the defendant committed the crime on Sept. 20, 2023. Carl Bundick was the defense attorney for Sample.
