Local fire companies respond to Tuesday evening fire in Onancock

At approximately 10:55pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Onancock Vol. Fire Department was dispatched to a working residential fire on Savageville Road in Onancock. Assisting agencies were Tasley, Melfa, Painter, Wachapreague, Parksley, ANEC & VSP.

A resident returned home and saw smoke coming from around her door and called 911. Firefighters worked quickly and extinguished the fire in a bedroom.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

The Red Cross was notified for assistance to the family. Onancock Vol. Fire Dept. is grateful for the assistance provided from all agencies.
