The Eastern Shore Public Library’s new regional library is transitioning into the construction design phase with the appointment of a new Steering Committee.  This oversight committee was formed under the Memorandum of Understanding recently approved by the Eastern Shore Public Library Board of Trustees, the Eastern Shore Public Library Foundation, and the Accomack County Board of Supervisors.  The Chairs of the Library and County Boards appointed the three person committee, made up of one representative from each of their boards and a public citizen.  The Steering Committee members will be Supervisor Paul Muhly, Library Trustee Tim Valentine, and Richard Lewis, Owner and President of Associated Grains.

The new 20,100 square foot regional library will be built in Parksley, Virginia.  Groundbreaking is scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2018 with a completion date in December 2019.  Donation bricks are now being offered.  For more information and to donate to the project, go to or visit any of the four public libraries in Accomac, Cape Charles, Chincoteague, or Nassawadox.
