Kyro Builders wins the ESVA Chamber’s 2025 Shore Fest Golf Tournament

Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Robert Sabbatini said he was concerned that heavy rains earlier in the week could postpone the annual Shore Fest Golf Tournament last Friday held at the Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club, but skies cleared and the course dried out, making the way for “chamber of commerce weather,” according to Sabbatini.  The tournament is planned and run by the Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for nursing scholarships.

Sabbatini said the tournament was a huge success with a full field of 18 teams and the valuable support of sponsors. In addition to supporting nursing scholarships, the tournament provides funds to allow the chamber to stage other events, including the popular ESVA Chamber Fest. “We will be announcing the major band next month,” said Sabbatini. “I think we will have a WOW moment when people hear the name.”

Kyro Builders, with Raymond Fitchett, Aaron Turner, Gavin Sayers and Dustin Aigner. shot a 57 to win the first flight in the advanced best ball format. Second place went to WESR with Will Russell, Spencer Parks, Jay Daughtery and CJ Anglin with a 59. Third placed in the first flight with a 61 was won by the Coastline Chemical foursome of Lee Robbins, Jim Lohr, Eric Breithut and J.P.. Lacey.

Three teams in the second flight led the field with a 68, with  the Weichert Realtors foursome of Andy Mason, Tammy Mason, Dan Meisenhelder and John Wetherill winning on a tiebreaker. Jeff Kelley, Mark Waldron, Brent Mears and Chance Fitzwater were awarded second place with the Thornton Services foursome of Kenny Thornton, Norman Thornton, Chip White and Rick Thornton placing third.

Jeff Kelley won closest to the pin with a tee shot nine feet from the hole on 13,  Frank Wood won the prize for longest drive.
