Northampton County Administrator Charlie Kolakowski has officially announced his retirement, effective December 31, 2025.
During his County Administrator report at Tuesday’s April work session, Kolakowski addressed circulating rumors and confirmed his plans to retire at the end of the year.
He pledged to work diligently to ensure a smooth transition to the next administrator and called his time serving Northampton County “the honor of a lifetime.”
Kolakowski was hired in 2017 and has served in the county’s top position for eight years. Prior to that, he was the Town Administrator for Bedford, Virginia.
He also reported that the county’s new attorney will officially begin work on Monday.
