Kiggans visits Eastern Shore Monday

Congresswoman Jen Kiggans visited the Eastern Shore Monday.

Kiggans recently announced that total of $1,536,000 has been secured for to two local projects. She visited the HRSD’s Onancock Sewage Treatment plant. Federal funding in the amount of $1,250,000 has been awarded to HRSD for the expansion of the new sewage treatment facility on Chincoteague which is expected to pay big dividends to the current and future residents of the island.

Kiggans then toured Eastern Shore of Virginia Broadband Authority headquarters in Exmore. Recently the ESVBA received federal funding of $286,000 to help expand broadband coverage on the Eastern Shore.

Following the Exmore stop, Kiggans was scheduled to visit Cape Charles before heading back to Virginia Beach.
