Charlena Jones has announced her withdrawal from the 100th District House of Delegates race, citing health and personal priorities. She has endorsed fellow Democratic candidate Justin Burns.
“I am deeply grateful for the support I have received throughout this journey,” said Jones. “While I am stepping away from the race, my commitment to the values and progress that matter to our community remains strong.”
In endorsing Burns, Jones expressed confidence in his ability to serve the district. “Justin Burns’ platform and values align with mine, and I am confident that he will work diligently to serve the needs of the 100th District. I encourage my supporters and the community to stand with him in this election.”
Burns, a Virginia Beach resident, has previously run for Virginia Beach Mayor and School Board, according to the Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP.org).
Bloxom is running for his sixth term in the House of Delegates.
