Jamesville man pleads guilty to 10 felony charges

A Jamesville man pleaded guilty to 10 felony charges Monday in Northampton Circuit Court involving the theft of air conditioner units from Peacock Motor Inn in Capeville last November.

Thirty-four-year-old Walter David Brunk, of Fiddler Lane, admitted to committing four counts of grand larceny, four counts of intending to sell stolen property, and two counts of burglary. In a plea deal, 11 other charges were not prosecuted.

The units were valued at $1,000 each.

Broadwater Academy

A presentence report was ordered. Sentencing was deferred until Nov. 24.

In another case, 40-year-old Midlothian paralegal Daniel Ray Blankenship was sentenced to 15 years in prison with all but three months suspended for breaking into a Cape Charles area home and destroying property. The defendant was allowed to report to jail in two weeks. Blankenship was also ordered to pay $8,049 in restitution. He will be on good behavior for five years. The crimes occurred on Aug. 3, 2022.
