Indictments handed down by Northampton Grand Jury

A Cape Charles resident was indicted Monday by a Northampton Grand Jury of beating a Machipongo man with a baseball bat and breaking his $300 sunglasses during a spring Little League game at the ballpark in Nassawadox.

Forty-six-year-old Mark Callison Bundy Jr., of Old Cape Charles Road, is accused of maliciously wounding Jake Mapp, and making a text message threat to beat the victim a month earlier. He is also charged with misdemeanor counts of making a threat by phone and using abusive language.

According to the court file, Bundy hit Mapp in the head and leg with a bat. The incident occurred at 5:45 p.m., April 3, 2025. Evidence includes Bundy’s confession and a video of the incident. Bundy told authorities that he was at the scene coaching for his daughter’s team. He said he was very emotional and didn’t mean to hurt Mapp.

In another case, 26-year-old Jakobi Kyree Taylor, of West 33rd Street in Norfolk, was indicted on counts of using his fist to crack a window in the C Housing Unit of the Eastern Shore Regional Jail, which caused more than $1,000 worth of damage on Jan. 11.

Twenty-four-year-old Percell Lafreddie Beckett II, of Vine Court in Exmore, was indicted on a March 30 count of stealing a vehicle valued at $1,000 or more on March 30. He was also charged with misdemeanor eluding, driving on a revoked or suspended driver’s license. He allegedly fled after a police officer attempted to stop him because he was observed in a stolen vehicle on Occohannock Neck Road.

Twenty-six-year-old Clevonte Maurice Ragun Ray, of Poplar Avenue in Exmore, was indicted on a third offense of assault and battery of a family or household member on Dec. 8, 2024. He was arrested nearly 10 days later.

Thirty-nine-year-old Tyrique Rasheem Brickhouse, of Sycamore Street in Painter, was indicted on counts of possession with intent to manufacture cocaine and possession with intent to distribute between a half-ounce and five pounds of marijuana. An officer observed “a hand-to-hand drug deal at the Eastville Shore Stop gas pumps” shortly after 6 p.m. on May 3.

Forty-year-old Carter Tyler, of Hurst Drive in Hampton, was indicted on a second offense of possession with intent to distribute meth or another Schedule I or II drug on March 29, 2024.

Forty-year-old Joshua Lee Farmer, of Pine Meadows Way in Exmore, was indicted on a count of buying, receiving, or concealing a stolen firearm between April 9, 2024, and March 1, 2025, felony theft of a gun, and conspiracy to steal a firearm. The guns belonged to the late Charles Harris, who passed away on March 17. Farmer was Harris’s former roommate and was told not to move any of his belongings by Adam and Heather Harris, the children of the deceased.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jabias Keandre Antonio Kellam, of Heritage Acres Court in Cape Charles, was indicted on counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle belonging to Enterprise Rentals, shoplifting more than $1,000 worth of property, attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer with a taser, and assaulting an officer on June 16, 2025.

According to the court file, the defendant acted aggressively when being booked at the Eastern Shore Regional Jail in Eastville. He was escorted to a cell. When police released his arms, he punched an officer in the face, striking him on the left side of his jaw and mouth.
