Hundreds of Cyclists expected for Le Tour de Shore Saturday

Hundreds of cycling enthusiasts are expected to take part in Le Tour de Shore on Saturday, June 20, with riders traveling through several Eastern Shore communities and rural roads.

The event will feature four routes beginning and ending in Onancock. Riders will travel through or near Onancock, Belle Haven, Exmore, Quinby, Wachapreague, Accomac and Tasley before returning to Onancock.

Motorists are asked to use caution Saturday and watch for cyclists along the routes.

Beginning in Onancock, riders will cross the creek by way of Ames Street and continue through the neighborhood on Liberty Street. The routes will then include several area roads and communities, including Hill Street and Cashville Road, Evans Wharf Road, Mount Nebo Road, Dingleys Mill Road, Bobtown Road, Boston Road, Shell Bridge Road, Big Pine Road, Belle Haven Road, Main Street in Exmore, Willis Wharf Road, Seaside Road, Quinby Bridge Road and Bradfords Neck Road.

Cyclists will also travel through Wachapreague on Main Street, Bayview Avenue, Park Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, Liberty Street and Church Street.

Other portions of the routes include Drummondtown Road, the Accomac town square, Drummonds Mill Road, Bayside Road, Deep Creek Road, Plantation Road, Southside Road, Poplar Cove Road, Town Road and North Street in Onancock.

The Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce said it is pleased to welcome the 2026 Le Tour riders and hopes participants experience Shore hospitality throughout their trip.
