A high-speed chase unfolded early Tuesday afternoon around 12:20 p.m. when units from the Accomack County Sheriff’s Department pursued a Dodge Charger traveling north on Route 316. Additional local law enforcement agencies assisted in the chase.
The vehicle crashed and overturned near the intersection of Mears Station Road and Route 316. The driver, described as wearing a red jacket, attempted to flee the scene on foot. Authorities apprehended the suspect near an abandoned house on Bethel Church Road at approximately 1:00 p.m.
