A Greenbush man was sentenced Thursday in Accomack Circuit Court to 30 years in prison for three counts of possessing child pornography and three counts of possessing materials depicting bestiality.
All but 18 months of the terms were suspended for Rodney Neil Parks, also known as “The Skipman,” of Mill Road, who reached his 53rd birthday on the day he was sentenced.
Judge Lynwood W. Lewis Jr. ordered that Parks get treatment for his diagnosis of pedophilia and said he must register as a sex offender.
“You have some serious issues here,” the judge said.
Parks was arrested last summer after local officers went to his home to investigate a cyber tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Defense lawyer Shannon Dunham said, “This is not the kind of stuff we like to hear about. But, she said, there was no victim in the case since the crime was committed via computer. She noted that he pleaded guilty.
Judge Lewis replied, “He, sort of, makes the market, doesn’t he?”
