Even though it’s been rumored for a while, Governor Ralph Northam and his wife Pam have put their Ocean View home on the market. According to an article in the Virginian Pilot the Northams are asking $829,000 for the 4 bedroom 3 and a half bath home at East Beach.
Northam has only been governor for 74 days but will reside in the governor’s mansion for the next 3 years and 10 months. What happens after that has yet to be revealed although many believe Northam will return to the Eastern Shore after his term is over. The Northam family owns property with two homes on Parker’s Creek near Cashville and a farm with a barn in Modestown. One of the homes on the Parker’s Creek property is occupied by Tom Northam, Governor Northam’s brother. The other was built by the governor’s father former Judge Wescott Northam who currently resides in the Hermitage.
Northam has often chided Nancy Stern, CEO of Eastern Shore Rural Health that someday he might need a place to practice medicine. Northam is a pediatric neurologist who practiced at CHKD in Norfolk before he was elected Lt. Governor in 2013. He also practiced at Eastern Shore Rural Health occasionally.
According to the Pilot, Northam also owns part interest in a vacation home on the Outer Banks.
