GoFundMe Set Up for Survivor of Northampton County Shooting

The family of one of the victims of a multiple shooting that happened last week in Northampton County has set up a GoFundMe page in an attempt to raise $6,500 in online contributions to help with medical and recovery-related costs, travel, including repeated trips across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, lodging and meals, and other unexpected expenses, in connection with his injuries.

“Our beloved Bernard Williams Jr., affectionately known as Buck, became a victim of the recent tragic shooting,” the site stated. “By the grace of God, Bernard survived, and he is now fighting through the long road to recovery. While we are incredibly grateful that he is still with us, the emotional, physical, and financial impact on our family has been overwhelming. Our mother was present during this heartbreaking event and is now coping with the emotional trauma of witnessing something no family should ever have to experience. As we focus on supporting Bernard and helping our mother through this difficult time, the costs continue to grow.”

The victim and his mother did not ask for this fundraiser, the post stated.

“They are focused on healing, taking one day at a time, and would never ask others for help,” Tamekia Cross, who appears to be a relative and the fundraising organizer. “As their family, however, we know the financial burden of this tragedy is real, and we want to lift some of that weight from their shoulders so they can focus on what truly matters—recovery, healing, and being together.”

“Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping our family remain by Bernard’s side as he heals,” the site continued. “If you are unable to give, we completely understand. Sharing this fundraiser with others and keeping Bernard and our family in your prayers would mean the world to us. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. We pray that Bernard continues to heal and that our family finds strength through the love and support of our community.”
