Go Fund Me started for family involved in Monday accident

A devastating car accident on Monday afternoon along Route 13 near Accomac claimed the life of a beloved member of the Lehigh Valley Health Network family and left several others seriously injured.

Gina Alvarez Dela Cruz, her husband Leo, their four children, and Leo’s parents were returning from a family vacation when their vehicle was involved in a head-on collision. Gina, who was seated in the front of the minivan, succumbed to her injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital. The remaining six family members, including her husband and children, are currently hospitalized with various injuries.

Now, friends of the family have started a Go Fund Me to help the family during their recovery period, covering funeral expenses, medical bills, and other unforeseen costs.

According to the page, Gina was widely known throughout the Lehigh Valley community for her radiant smile and warm personality. A dedicated colleague and friend, she left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her husband Leo is also an employee of the health network, making this loss all the more personal for staff and friends across the organization.
