An Internet fundraiser to help the family of three people who police said were slain before their home burned has begun.
So far, the GoFundMe.com account of Elder Gomez has raised $670 of a requested $20,000.
Alejandra Gonzalez, 25; her 3-year-old daughter, Sofia Escalante Gonzalez; and her 24-year-old brother-in-law, Wilson Escalante, all were killed before a fire gutted a single-wide mobile home in the 28000 block of Johnson Court.
A state medical examiner said Saturday that each sustained injuries inconsistent with a fire and State Police are now investigating as a homicide and arson.
A second GoFundMe.com fundraiser by family friend angelica Larreinaga also has been started to support the family of the victims. It has $270 of a goal of $5,000.
People with information on the slayings or the blaze are asked to call 757-424-6800 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
