After several days of northeast winds generated by Tropical Storm Melissa off the east coast and a full moon cycle, Saturday morning brought moderate flooding to both the bayside and seaside on the Eastern Shore. Flooded roads blocked access to low lying areas. The causeway at Saxis was impassable during high tide cycles on Saturday. Seaside communities also had flooded roads at high tides as well.
By Sunday Tropical Storm Melissa moved out and while there was minor flooding on Sunday, most roads were open.
