Fire units called to Pungoteague Elementary School when smoke reported in the building

Fire units were called to Pungoteague Elementary School at 10:20 this morning when smoke was reported in a hallway in the building.

Units from Melfa, Wachapreague, Onancock and Tasley were called to the scene.

The school was evacuated as first responders are seeking to find the source of the smoke.

There are no reports of any injuries.  Fire units were recalled to service at 10:45.
