The much-anticipated Eastern Shore of Virginia Agricultural Fair is set to return on October 5, bringing a day full of fun, learning, and community spirit. This year’s fair promises to be bigger and better, featuring a variety of competitions, engaging demonstrations, and a bustling market with local vendors.
One of the highlights of the fair will be the Chincoteague Pony Drill Team. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to witness these iconic ponies up close and learn about their history and significance to the region. The demonstration promises to be both educational and entertaining for all ages.
In addition to the pony demonstration, the Peninsula Tractor Organization will showcase their impressive machinery and skills in various demonstrations. This will be a great chance for attendees to see vintage and modern tractors in action and appreciate the vital role they play in agriculture.
Competitions are at the heart of the fair, with categories ranging from skillet throwing to the photography competition. Participants will enter for top honors in categories such as best in taste, largest crop, and photography. These competitions highlight the hard work and talent of our local farmers, artisans, and youth.
The fair will also feature multiple local vendors, offering everything from fresh produce and handmade crafts to delicious food and unique gifts. It’s the perfect place to shop for locally made products and support the community.
“We are thrilled to bring the Eastern Shore Agricultural Fair to life again this year,” said Anne Clark, Director of Marketing Events at the Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce. “This event celebrates our agricultural heritage and brings the community together for a day of fun and learning. We invite everyone to join us and experience the best of what our region has to offer.”
The fair will take place at 7247 Young St, Machipongo, VA from 10 AM to 2 PM. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend. For more information, visit our website or contact the Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
