Creating an Estate Plan is a crucial step in ensuring your wishes are honored and your loved ones are taken care of. You should have an estate plan whenever you own or have something. It is a plan when you are alive as well as after you die. Many people think you don’t have an estate until you die, but it is often just as important to think about your estate while you are alive.
An estate plan lets you document what you want to happen if you become incapacitated and can’t make decisions for yourself while you are alive and what you want to happen to your estate after you die. We all die at some time. In most cases we generally just don’t know when or how. The documents involved in an estate plane are: Advanced Health Care Directive; Power of Attorney for Finance; Will: Trust & Beneficiary Designations.
