Eastern Shore Public Library will be hosting Celebrate Us, a free multicultural festival on Sunday, May 5, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the site of the future regional library in Parksley, Virginia.  Celebrate Us features Guinness World Record holder and juggler, Cascading Carlos; the opportunity to visit with a friendly, locally owned llama; and a variety of family games and activities.  Accomack Parks and Recreation and other nonprofits will be on hand to add to the fun.  Celebrate Us is a free family-friendly event that raises awareness of the diverse cultures present on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, while encouraging mutual understanding and celebrating our distinct cultural folkways and traditions.

One of the highlights of Celebrate Us will be the addition of VMFA on the Road. Sixty-five years after the launch of its original artmobile, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is once again bringing traveling art exhibits to audiences across Virginia.  This is a terrific opportunity to introduce children to fine works of art.  On Sunday, May 5, from 1 to 4 p.m., the public is invited to visit the exhibit during the Celebrate Us-multicultural festival and it will be available on Monday, May 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Both the Celebrate Us fair and the artmobile are free and open to the public.  For more information call the library at (757) 787-3400 or visit the library’s website at espl.org.
