Eastern Shore Rural Health announced Tuesday live on 103.3 FM WESR they will be keeping the dental operations of the Franktown Community Health Center open.

“We are going to maintain the Franktown Community Health Center dental program,” said CEO Nancy Stern. “Medical services will move to Eastville, but dental services will remain at Franktown. That’s very exciting for us when we recognize with some retiring private dentists, the gap began to broaden again.”

Stern went on to say that Rural Health has been able to hire two new dentists in the last year, including one who is a graduation of Northampton High School.

Meanwhile, construction of the Eastville Community Health Center is moving along nicely. While there have been a few setbacks due to the wet spring, it is scheduled to be open this winter.
