ES Community Foundation welcomes three new board members

The Eastern Shore of Virginia Community Foundation (ESVCF) has announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors, with terms beginning in January 2026. The additions bring extensive legal, financial, and community service experience to the regional philanthropic organization.

Joining the board is attorney and CPA John P. Custis, known for his long-standing civic involvement and service to educational and community organizations across the Shore. Custis also brings a family legacy of involvement with ESVCF, offering both institutional knowledge and legal and financial expertise.

Also appointed is Willie Randall, a retired U.S. Army major and longtime Edward Jones financial advisor. Randall has served on numerous regional boards and has been an active advocate for economic opportunity and family support initiatives throughout the community.

Rounding out the new members is Wendy Walker, an attorney, business leader, and volunteer who has worked extensively in grant oversight and financial management. Her leadership at T&W Block, along with her volunteer service with the Garden Club of Virginia and other nonprofits, reflects a deep commitment to community improvement.

Foundation leaders say the three new board members will play a key role in guiding the organization’s grantmaking and long-term strategy as it continues to support nonprofits across both Accomack and Northampton counties.

Their appointments come as three outgoing board members—Bill Payne, Andre Elliott, and Nick Chuquin—complete their service at the end of the year.

ESVCF continues to support a wide range of local initiatives, including new endowed funds, updated grant guidelines, and expanded training for nonprofit leaders.
