Early voting totals on the Eastern Shore down after the first week

Just a little over a week into early voting, Eastern Shore voters have not yet rushed to the polls.   According to the Virginia Public Access Project as of September 30, Accomack had booked 1564 votes down from 1760 on the same date in 2020. This is 12% fewer votes than on the same date in 2020.

In Northampton, the results are much the same.   As of September 30, 2020, 1298 voters had cast their ballots. As of Sunday night, 975 Northampton voters had cast their ballots which is 25% off of the 2020 count at this time.

However this year both parties are strongly urging their supporters to vote early and with 35 days left until November 5, these numbers could easily change.
