
Accomack County Election Registrar Angel Shrieves reported Thursday that as of mid day Thursday a total of 225 early voters have cast their ballots in the June 17th Democratic Primary election. Shrieves said her office received 576 absentee ballot requests. Of those, 224 have been returned.
Northampton Registrar Terry Flynn reports 128 walk in voters so far. Flynn said his office has processed 170 absentee ballots so far.
Registrar offices in both counties will be open tomorrow for the last day of early voting. Election Day is Tuesday June 17.
While there are no local races this time around, the field for both Lt. Governor is crowded. Abigail Spanburger has been nominated for Governor. For Lt. Governor voters can choose between Lamar Stoney, Bebur Lateef, Aaron Rouse, Victor Selgado, Gahzala Hashmi and Alexander Bastani.
For Attorney General, Shannon Taylor is challenging Jay Jones.
