
As of Monday, in-person early voting numbers were down in both Accomack County and Northampton County, as well as statewide, compared to the 2020 election. Eight days out from Election Day in 2020, Accomack reported 8,753 early in-person votes cast. As of Monday, the total was 6,088 votes, which is down 31% from 2020.
Northampton reports nearly identical results. As of Monday, 3,167 early in-person votes have been cast. In 2020, eight days out, the total was 4,539, also a 31% decrease over the same period in 2020.
Statewide early in-person vote totals are down as well. Eight days before Election Day in 2020, Virginia reported 2,818,796 early in-person votes cast. This year, the total is 1,680,701, reflecting a decrease of 41%.
Voters statewide have until Saturday at 5 p.m. to vote early. The final opportunity after that will be on Election Day, Tuesday, from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. at your regular voting precinct.
